In addition to the unique travelers and our beloved regular customers, we host several workgroups, association meeting groups, and hikers every week, for whom we prepare breakfast, lunch, and afternoon coffee using our own farm’s organic products and local farm offerings. Guests can celebrate in two floors of our venue, and during the summer, on the large terrace with coffee treats or at the dining table.

Themed events mark the rhythm of the year. Join the Häme Hills Hiking with the lovely Ilona guiding you through the spring nature, get wild with wild herbs under the guidance of the Wild Chef, dive into folk traditions in the mythical atmosphere of Kekri, or celebrate Wappu with a brunch. On Sunday, June 29th, Janakkala Baroque brings French Baroque music from the Sun King’s era to the Saint Laurentius Church in Janakkala. Immerse yourself in the mood with a Finnish, but French-influenced dinner at the Tarinmaa Parish Hall.

We’ll be at the Spring Fair from March 27th to 30th, 2025, at the Helsinki Exhibition Center at the Local Food Day booth. At the Herkkujen Häme market event in Hämeenlinna, we’ll bring the farm’s delights from the countryside to the city. You can also join us at the Tohijärvi Organic Market in Lammin Evo for organic products and a wonderful atmosphere.

Celebrations of celebrations

Would you like to celebrate in a countryside setting with delicious local food and berry-filled, moist cakes?

Here, guests are free to enjoy the celebration inside the cozy event space and outside, petting sheep, swinging, and inhaling the fresh rural air. We host only one event at a time, ensuring each group has their own private celebration. The event space spans two floors, with sturdy stairs leading to the upper level. The maximum number of guests is 40. We can serve food or coffee downstairs, upstairs, or even in both areas!

Do you want to taste Finnish food traditions and hear their history? Do you want to listen to a lecture and enjoy a themed coffee break with seven different pastries? Do you want to air out your national costume? At our place, you can arrange open events for everyone. Our small business is flexible and can accommodate all kinds of ideas. We will announce upcoming events that are open to all in the "Events" section.

Casual yet effective meetings

Start your meeting day with a hearty country breakfast or coffee, served with fresh rye bread and berry mousse.

Be inspired by the vastness, greenery, and atmosphere of the countryside. Enjoy a vegetable feast for lunch, featuring local fish, organic meats from nearby farms, and perhaps a pheasant from Virala Manor, complemented by a berry dessert. End your meeting day with cake and bubbly.

Kekri

We will celebrate Kekri on Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM at the Laurinmäki Crofter Museum area in Janakkala, on a gentle October evening.

The Kekri bonfires will glow, candle lanterns will light the way for visitors, and the aroma of food will fill the air, both outdoors and indoors, creating a cozy and calm atmosphere. The courtyard of the croft felt just like it did 200 years ago. Inside the croft, it was warm, and the food stayed hot, freshly taken from the fire. The croft's inhabitants seemed to enjoy the celebration too!

The Kekri treats were, as always, from close by: green wild herbs, berries, cabbage with wild herbs, buttermilk cheese with jam, fire-cooked salmon, lake fish, sausages, root vegetables in many forms, pickled vegetables, bread, and beer.

After the meal, challenging tasks awaited: predicting the future with beeswax, throwing old sorrows into the fire, sound bowl relaxation, and a nature altar guided us into Kekri traditions.

We returned to the table to enjoy apple glögi, dandelion root coffee, regular coffee, harvest cake, and Kekri gingerbread cookies.

Finally, we lit our own lanterns and set off along the candlelit path to the sacrificial grove and Kekri bonfire. “Dark forest, bright sky, they know my worries,” sang Selma.

Hämäläinen Ridge Hike

Welcome to move and relax in the Hämäläinen ridge landscapes in Janakkala Kiipula on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with Ilona as the guide.

The hike is approximately 13.5 kilometers long, and we will progress at a relaxed pace. The terrain is occasionally challenging due to the elevation differences, but we will calmly walk the ascents and descents. We will stop to admire the scenery and the surrounding nature.

We start from the Kiipula Guest House and hike to Tanttala, Hakolan Marjatila. There, a delicious Häme-style local lunch awaits us, including dessert:

Wild herb pie
Fresh breads
Kyytön beef/vegetable puree soup
Coffee/tea, juice
Raspberry-white chocolate cake

We will also receive packed sandwiches and juice from Hakola, which we can enjoy later in the day. After lunch, we head back to Kiipula and climb up to Matinvuori to Jussi's campfire site to admire the stunning views. At the campfire, there will be a brief sound bowl relaxation session. Finally, the Kiipula Guest House sauna and swimming pools will crown our hiking day. The cost is 87€/person.
